Additional Information

  • Applicants under the age of 7 do not have to come to the Applicant Service Center.  Parents of applicants who are under the age of 7 may choose to bring two high-quality photographs of the child to the appointment at the Applicant Service Center instead of bringing the child for a live photograph, since children cannot be sleeping or crying when the live photograph is taken. The Consulate is not equipped to photograph infants.  Click to see photograph requirements. You may find it preferable to pay for your child’s professional photograph for a modest fee. The Consulate does not certify or recommend any provider of visa photographs.
  • Applicants aged 7 and up do not need to bring photographs to the appointment; your photographs will be taken at the ASC.
  • The NIV application form is available on the internet free of charge. See the menu on the left for more information about the application process.

The Consulate DOES NOT certify or recommend any external provider of visa services or documents.  Do not believe any representative or business who tells you that they either represent the Consulate or can provide you with documents or services that guarantee that you will receive a visa.  We take fraud seriously.  If you provide false information or documents, it can prevent you and your family from obtaining a visa.
