If your visa case number appears below, the administrative processing on your case is complete and the Consulate is ready to proceed with your case. See the Notes column for instructions on how to proceed. If you were told that your case needs additional administrative processing and your case number does not appear below, the Consulate is not yet ready to proceed with your case. Please check back on this site every week for updates. Administrative processing usually takes 6 - 8 weeks, but in some cases requires additional time.

You need to send your Mexican passport. As part of the continued processing of your case, you need to visit You will need to sign into your existing account by clicking on "continue" and entering your e-mail and password.  On the Applicant Summary page, click on "Consular Section instructed me to send more documents."  On the follow-up documents request page, select the applicant for whom the request was made by clicking on the gray box.  Enter the reason for the request and click the "Send Request" button.  Click "OK" on the approval request box.  Click the "Applicant details" link. Click "Continue" on the Applicant Summary page. Click "Submit." Click "OK." Click "View Courier-in Receipt" on the instructions page. Print Courier-in Authorization Certificate and take certificate and your passport to the DHL office. If you are unable to access the website, you can also contact the call center and indicate to the agent that you need to submit additional information by courier. A list of telephone numbers to contact our call center is available here.

Once we receive your Mexican passport your visa will be printed and returned to you by courier at no extra charge. You must visit this same website to check on the delivery of your visa. 

Attention: if your spouse and/or your children (dependents on your application) are applying for a Border Crossing Card (BCC-laser visa), your dependents should not send in their passports. 

Attention: If you are NOT a citizen of Mexico and your case is listed above, you will have to come to the consulate information window during the hours of 8:00 am - 10:00 am Monday through Friday.

** You must be re-interviewed by a consular officer at the Consulate.  

Please visit and sign in to your existing account by clicking on "continue" and entering your e-mail and password. Click "Request Follow Up" in Applicant Summary Page and follow instructions to request new appointment.

You will need to bring your valid Mexican passport and 221(g) letter you received at your first interview.

Spouses and children that are dependents (derivatives) should also attend the second interview with the principal applicant. The dependents (derivatives) visas will not be approved before the principal applicant is approved. For example: F2, J2, L2 and H4 will not be issued before the respective F1, J1, L1 and H1B are issued.
