Step 5: Visa Adjudication

If your visa is approved, you will receive your packet at the previously selected DHL courier office. If you have not selected one yet, please access: http://mexico.usvisa-info.com/ to choose a courier office location where you would like to receive your visa.

If you are found to be ineligible for a visa, you will be given a refusal letter with the specific reason(s) why you were ineligible. If there is a waiver available for the ineligibility, you will be given instructions on how to apply for a waiver. Not all visa ineligibilities are waiverable. Sometimes, additional administrative processing of your visa application is needed. This additional processing can delay the final adjudication of the application. In these cases, the consular officer will explain the situation and you will be given a letter with instructions on how to proceed.

If the consular officer requests more information and after obtaining the documents required (including your valid Mexican passport and a copy of the refusal letter) please visit: http://mexico.usvisa-info.com/ where you will need to log onto the wevbsite using your Passport number, Date of Birth and nationality.

Click on the "Schedule Appointment" link. Next, click on the "Immigrant Visas" link. When prompted to select a Trip Purpose, you will need to choose "IV Administrative Processing" and then idicate that you need to submit additional information by courier.

If your visa is approved, it will be returned to you by courier an no extra charge. If you are unable to access the website, you can Click here for a list of telephone numbers to contact our call center and indicate to the agent that you need to submit additional information by courier.

After submitting the documents requested, please continue to check periodically with the courier for any additional correspondence from the Consulate concerning your case.

- The Consulate Does Not Recommend That You Send Documents Via Regular Mail.
- Sometimes, your medical exam may not be ready in time for your visa interview. If your medical exam is not ready, the consular officer will put your case on hold until your medical exam is received. In some cases, the clinic may give the results to you to take to the Consulate information window. DO NOT open the sealed packet or you will need to retake the exam.
During the entire visa application and interview process, you must tell the truth and give complete and accurate information. If you do not, your visa will be delayed or you may be found ineligible for a visa.
