When the Consulate has the approved petition on file and has received all necessary clearances the applicant will be notified of the date for his or her immigrant visa interview. In Mexico, immigrant visa interviews are done only at the Consulate General in Ciudad Juarez. All applicants must also obtain a medical examination from a physician approved by the U.S. government. In Ciudad Juarez, there are two medical offices approved to process immigrant visa interviews. Both are located within a block of the Consulate. Applicants must present their visa interview appointment letter in order to obtain the medical examination. Most applicants have their medical examination on the weekday immediately proceeding the day of their immigrant visa interview. The clinics see applicants on a walk-in basis between 7 and 11 A.M.
